Scheduled Maintenance for Friday May 4th

As part of our commitment to provide the best possible infrastructure for your services, we will be upgrading EasyApache on all the servers used by webexhosting.com, from EasyApache 3 to EasyApache 4 (EA4). We encourage you to please read the details below carefully as this will affect your PHP settings and options moving forward:

Scheduled Date:
Friday, May 4th, 2018

Maintenance Window:
11:00PM EDT – 5:00AM EDT

Maintenance Type:
EasyApache 4 (EA4) Upgrade

Maintenance Details:
Handling software upgrades on any shared hosting environment can be tedious and can cause various levels of issues for clients who share resources on the servers all based on how they have their sites/accounts configured. In order to upgrade the server’s EasyApache version while having minimal impact to a majority of clients on the server, our Senior Admins will be taking the servers offline during the upgrade process to EasyApache 4. Once the upgrade is complete, all accounts on the servers will have the ability to utilize any available PHP versions (PHP 5.4, PHP 5.5, PHP 5.6, PHP 7.0, PHP 7.1 and PHP 7.2). The default PHP version will be set to PHP 5.6.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please note, we highly recommend upgrading to a supported version of PHP (5.4 or higher) as soon as possible, as EOL versions of PHP (PHP 5.3) will not be supported once the upgrade is complete. Any accounts currently using PHP 5.3 will be defaulted to PHP 5.6 after the upgrade, and these accounts will likely have problems after the upgrade if any software on the account is not compatible with PHP 5.6.

Estimated Downtime:
We understand the importance of minimizing downtime during any maintenance and for this reason we will do everything in our power to expedite the procedure. For this upgrade we are expecting up to 3-6 hours of potential downtime during the maintenance window. There is potential for various configuration and compatibility issues for individual accounts once the upgrade is complete. Although we will be doing post-upgrade checks to ensure websites are working properly, we cannot always determine whether all sites are functioning as expected. Please be sure to check your websites after the maintenance window and report any apparent problems to our support staff.

We do apologize for any inconvenience and ask that you please plan accordingly.
